Empowerment Fayres

The Empowerment Fayre provides a platform so that disabled people, carers and parents can talk to care, support and leisure services available in their area. The Fayre looks at lifestyle and choice to open up the way disabled people live, work and play in their local communities. This puts the disabled individual into the driving seat as the ‘disabled customer’ and Empowerment Fayres form an important link between them and disability related services, fitting with the National Personalisation Strategy. The type of organisation that will be encouraged to attend will, typically, be from:

Local, County and City Councils
Housing associations
User led organisations
Special Needs educational establishments<
Employment specialists
Care and support providers
Specialist equipment and mobility shops
Community and voluntary support groups
Specialist internet resources
Sport and leisure activities
Arts sector
Complementary therapies
